Cut Flower Workshop Rescheduled: Winter weather has caused the Cut Flower Workshop to be rescheduled. The new date is March 27. Registration deadline is March 19. The event will still take place at the Holiday Inn in Stillwater. The workshop will focus on the production of cut flowers. State 4-H Leadership
Conference: The annual State 4-H Leadership
Conference will take place July 18 and 19 in Stillwater. This
years theme is The Ever Ready Volunteer. The
conference is designed for 4-H parents, adult volunteers, club
leaders, and extension educators. Two NEW tracks of programming
have been added for 4-Hers who are 12-19 years old. The
camps will run simultaneously with the conference schedule. The
new tracks are Design Camp for Youth Experiences in
Apparel and Interior Design, and Science Camp
Exploration of Various Fields In Science and Technology. A
tentative schedule of workshops is available at http://agweb.okstate.edu/fourh/volun02/Edoupp.htm.
Counties may print a final version for duplication and
distribution beginning March 24.
Its Party Time: Everyone is
invited to attend a come-and-go retirement reception
for Arletta Webster on April 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in 102
Ag Hall. Arletta is retiring from the Oklahoma Cooperative
Extension Service after serving 12 years as Senior Financial
Coordinator for Fiscal Affairs. Anyone who wishes to send a card
or contribute money toward a gift may do so by sending to Peggy
Armstrong, Extension Finance, 258 Ag Hall, by March 28. Please
make checks payable to Ag Employees Fund and specify for
Arletta Webster Retirement Fund on the memo line.

Amy Armstrong, Washington County Extension Educator, is now
listed as Amy Bull in the Personnel Directory. Her email has

Congratulations to: Bart Cardwell, Kay
County Extension Educator, and his wife, Judy, on the birth of
their daughter, Abigail K. She was born February 28, weighed 8
pounds, 1 ounce, and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Congratulations to: Marty New, Noble
County Extension Educator, and his bride, Janette Nickell. They
were married February 14 in Guthrie.
Condolences to: The family of Jerry
Dennis, former County Extension Director in Johnston County. He
passed away February 24. Funeral services were held February 27
at the Wapanucka School Gymnasium.
Condolences to: N.B. Thomas, retired
State Cotton Specialist, on the death of his wife, Patricia Joan
Thomas. She passed away February 27. Funeral services were held
March 3 in Altus.
College Corner
Networking Workshop: CASNR Career
Services is coordinating a Networking and Professionalism
Workshop on March 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 102 Ag Hall.
Special guest speakers and CASNR Career Services staff will
present information and facilitate discussion about professional
dress, telephone etiquette, dining etiquette, and successful
networking and business conversation strategies. Students will
have the opportunity to apply their knowledge through simulated
networking situations and dilemmas. Students must sign up in 136
Ag Hall by March 11. Students also may sign up via email at ajgaz@okstate.edu .
Awards Banquet: The CASNR Awards
Banquet is slated April 4 in the Student Union Ballroom. A
reception for freshmen will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the banquet
will begin at 6:00 p.m.
