The two-day conference brought together professionals with FCS backgrounds, as well as students completing degrees within the same area. Keynote speaker was Bonnie Braun, President of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Braun encouraged participants to rethink those practices that worked in the past but do not fit with current practices. Attendees enjoyed live fire safety training, a quilt display, and a tour of the Noble Foundation.  Speakers presented sessions on advance directives, women owned business, financial literacy, and enhancing wellness for older adults.

Godsey’s Grant Proposal Funded: Chad Godsey, Extension Cropping Systems Specialist, received funding for his Southern Regional Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) On-Farm Research Grant Proposal entitled “Increasing the Sustainability of Oklahoma Cropping Systems Using Cover Crops.” The purpose of this two-year project is to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of cover cropping systems in the southern Plains and to educate growers on the associated cost/benefits of cover cropping.
