Educators Present Money Management Program: Chellee Burson, Haskell County; Rachel Lockwood, Wagoner County; Ladell Emmons, Pittsburg County; Sandy Lackey, Carter County; and Brenda Miller, Northeast District Office, recently presented a money management program titled “Building Financial Strength” to the Oklahoma Coalition Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Conference in Norman. This conference was a train the trainer program to assist those centers and individuals who work with domestic violence and sexual abuse clients. Responding to a need for financial literacy first identified by Chellee Burson, a diverse group of educators representing family resiliency, family economic well-being, health, nutrition, and wellness was formed to pool resources.  From this initial need, Building Financial Strength was created and covers topics such as emergency preparedness and response, keeping your financial life in order, pennies making dollars, making ends meet, and setting smart goals.
