ANNOUNCEMENTS

Volunteers Needed to Teach Workshops at State 4-H Roundup: This year marks the 86th State 4-H Roundup, which will take place May 23-25 on the OSU campus. Volunteers are needed to present educational workshops to youth ages 13-19. The deadline to volunteer is February 28. 4-H Roundup is an excellent recruitment tool for OSU.  Many youth have been surveyed and a large majority of these individuals attend OSU because of their experiences while on campus attending Roundup. It is a goal of this year’s planning committee to have workshops from every department in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. For more information contact Tracy Branch at 405-744-8891.

Counties Receive Funding: The Cross Timbers Resource Conservation and Development recently hosted a reception celebrating the approval of a Revolving Loan Fund for Okmulgee, Okfuskee and Seminole counties. Thanks to the support of USDA’s Rural Development, a check for $99,000 was awarded to Cross Timbers RC&D to invest in these three counties to expand or create new jobs in the area.
