ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fee Waiters Due Dec. 21: Fee waivers for the 2008 spring semester should be submitted no later than December 21, 2007, three working days prior to the first day of class on January 7, 2008, to Linda Turner, 139 Ag Hall. The Study and Education Form should accompany the fee waiver and be signed by your County Extension Director, District Extension Director, Department Head, and/or appropriate Unit Administrator, and then forwarded to 139 Ag Hall for processing. Please allow plenty of time to get these forms in by the deadline. If you miss the deadline, the fee waiver WILL NOT be honored, no exceptions. No letters of explanation will be accepted. If you are a full-time faculty or staff member taking classes, you may request a partial fee waiver. The form is available for download from the Office of the Registrar’s website, http://www.okstate.edu/registrar/FormsOnline/FormsOnline.html.  Scroll down to Faculty/Staff Fee Waiver Form.

Please use your campus-wide identification number instead of your Social Security number.

You can also pick up a blank form from the Office of the Registrar, 322 Student Union.

If you have a supply of the old forms, please discard them.

NOTE: The Educational Leave Requests are now available on-line at the Staff Development intranet site located at http://intranet.okstate.edu/staff_development/

Also, as a reminder – Distance Education Courses do have additional fees and in-service training does not require a fee waiver form.  If you have questions, please contact your immediate supervisor as they have updated information regarding the policy on Fee Waiver and Study and Education Request Forms.

If your class is cancelled, you decide to drop your class, or if you change your study and education form, call Linda Turner at 405-744-5398 so that your records can be updated. Also, check your Bursar invoice to make sure you received the fee waiver. You should contact the Fee Adjustment Office at 405-744-6866 if you have questions.

4-H’ers Return from Atlanta: A group of 20 4-H’ers from across the state returned this week from Atlanta, Ga., where they were representing Oklahoma at the National 4-H Congress. The group joined more than 1,300 4-H’ers from across the country. This year’s theme was “Accept the Challenge.” National 4-H Congress is designed to address the needs and issues of youth while helping to develop capable, competent and caring citizens. In addition to the educational opportunities, Oklahoma delegates also had the opportunity to do a little sightseeing while in Atlanta, including CNN Headquarters, Carter Presidential Center, Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Change, World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta History Center, the Georgia Aquarium, and the Atlanta Zoo. Oklahoma’s own Lauren Nelson, Miss America 2007, was one of the guest speakers.

Congratulations to: Carol Laverty, Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Sciences/4-H Youth Development, Harper County, on the birth of her granddaughter. Lauren Michelle Hodgden was born Nov. 6, weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 19 ½ inches long. This is Carol’s twelfth grandchild. Lauren’s parents are Monica and Cody Hodgden of Woodward.
