Canola Production Conference Slated: The Canola Production Conference will be held on July 19 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Hoover Building in Enid. For additional information contact Deana Titus at 405-744-6420.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

New OKG Host: Kimberly Rebek will take over hosting duties of the Oklahoma Gardening television program. She will officially be on campus August 15. She will do a "hand-off" shot with current host Steve Owens on August 18 and her first solo show will air August 25. She comes to OSU from Michigan State University where she has served as professional aide to the state coordinator of the Michigan Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Rebek replaces Owens who has hosted Oklahoma Gardening since June 2001. The program airs Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and Sundays at 3:30 p.m. on your local OETA television station.

AWARDS

Volunteer of the Year: Congratulations to Sam Deal, Paden, Okla., for being named the 2007 Southern Region 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year. He will be recognized for his award at the Southern Region 4-H Volunteer Leader Forum Oct. 4-7 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Ga. Deal has been a volunteer leader in Okfuskee County for three years and has worked to build the Okfuskee County 4-H Shooting Sports Program.
