ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fact Sheet Numbering System Revised: Due to a shortfall of numbers in some areas of the fact sheet numbering system (created in the 1940s), a new permanent solution is now in place. The new system is as follows:

  • The fact sheet numbers that have been assigned will remain the same--only the prefix will change (there will no longer be the "F-" prefix).
  • Each fact sheet will be assigned a prefix according to department. For example, Ag Economics will be AGEC. For example, "F-302 Information Systems for Oklahoma Farmers" will become "AGEC-302 Information Systems for Oklahoma Farmers."
  • For convenience, the F-# will be kept as a keyword search. You will still be able to find the fact sheet number either as "F-302" or "AGEC-302."

We are in the process of updating the Publications Catalog as we make these changes, and hope to have it published by the end of July to make the transition less confusing. Following is a complete list of prefixes:

  • AGEC    Ag Economics
  • ANSI    Animal Science
  • BAE     Biosystems and Ag Engineering
  • EPP     Entomology and Plant Pathology
  • HLA     Horticulture and Landscape Architecture
  • NREM    Natural Resource Ecology and Management
  • PSS     Plant and Soil Sciences
  • VTMD    Veterinary Medicine

If you have any questions, please contact Gayle Hiner at 405-744-3659 or email at gayle.hiner@okstate.edu.
