ANNOUNCEMENTS

DASNR-L Being Deleted: The DASNR Listserv, DASNR-L, is being deleted. DASNR-L has not been used in more than three months and has been used very little in the past year. Group Email Addresses have been developed for delivering information to specific groups within DASNR, or to all DASNR employees.  If you need to distribute information to DASNR employees, please go to http://intranet.okstate.edu/personnel/personnel_directory.htm  and click on the link 'Send e-mail to specific groups within DASNR' to find information about using this facility.

Orange Shirts Available: The 4-H Agents Association has been selling “bright orange” shirts with one of three embroidered designs as part of our hosting process for the NAE4-HA national meeting being held in Oklahoma this fall. Any OCES employee is welcome to order a short-sleeve polo or a long sleeve twill shirt for $25. The shirts are excellent quality and do not fade or shrink during initial washings. Order forms are available online at http://agweb.okstate.edu/fourh/staff02/Oae4ha.htm. Scroll down to the heading OCES/4-H Orange Shirt – Online Order Form. Orders must be received by October 8 in order to be filled in time for the NAE4-HA meeting slated October 30 through November 4. All Extension personnel helping as volunteers during the national meeting are encouraged to purchase and wear their shirt during duty assignments. It is our way of making both staff and volunteers visible and accessible to conference guests.

4-H Teams Up With Habitat for Humanity: The Oklahoma State 4-H officers are once again teaming up with Habitat for Humanity (HFH) to help build a house for a low-income family.  Last year Oklahoma 4-H members helped the officer team exceed their goal of $6,000 by $961.08! This year we would ask counties to assist the team in reaching a new goal of $8,000 and the participation of all 77 counties. HFH seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. In order to do this we have designated “4-H Dime Drop” as a statewide service project, sponsored by the State Officer Team. All proceeds will be designated for the house “4-H” built. Information is available at http://www.clover.okstate.edu/fourh/habitat.
