    Condolences to: Sandy Risman, Extension Secretary, Woods County, on the death of her father. Gene Hammock passed away Aug. 10. Funeral services took place Aug. 15.  Cards may be send to Sandy at 523 Eight St., Alva, OK  73717.

    Condolences to: Zen Stinchcomb, retired Extension FCS Educator, Harmon County, on the death of her husband. Joe Stinchcomb passed away Aug. 17. Funeral services took place Aug. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Hollis. Cards may be sent to Zen at 912 W. Vivian, Hollis, OK  73550.



    DASNR Faculty Honored: Three DASNR members were honored recently during the 2013 Agricultural and Applied Economics Association Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. Award winners were:

    • Derrell Peel – Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program, Individual, 10 or More Years of Experience
    • Brian Whitacre - Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program, Individual, Less  than 10 Years of Experience
    • Shannon Ferrell – Distinguished Teaching: Less than 10 Years of Experience 

    Edwards to Receive Award: Jeff Edwards, Extension Small Grains Specialist, will be honored at the 2013 APLU Annual Meeting in November in Washington, D.C. He will receive the National Excellence in Extension Award. This award recognizes excellence in programming and celebrating diversity and is co-sponsored by ECOP and USDA-NIFA and was selected through a competitive process.
