No-Till/Herbicide Evaluation Tour: The 15th Annual Caddo County No-Till/Herbicide Evaluation Tour is slated July 9. Those interested in participating will meet at the Eakly Co-Op at 9:30 a.m. and depart for the tour at 9:45 a.m. Participants will travel around the county to look at different crops and cropping systems, as well as observe how well the early weed control products are working on no-till, reduced till, and conventional tillage. Crops on the tour include corn, peanuts, cotton, and soybeans. The tour is free and lunch is provided. So Long, Farewell: The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture will say goodbye to two long-time employees at a retirement reception. Dale Maronek, Head, and Margaret Struble, Administrative Assistant, will be honored for their combined 60 years of service July 12, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University. Margaret came to campus in 1978 and Dr. Maronek joined OSU in 1988.

NEA Set to Retire: Joyce Haney, Nutrition Education Assistant is set to retire following a 24-year career. She has taught hundreds of hours of nutrition education to many families in Choctaw and Bryan counties. A retirement reception in her honor will take place July 19, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Clay Jones Community Center in Durant. Congratulation messages and cards may be sent to the Joyce Haney, c/o Bryan County Extension Office, P.O. Box 749, Durant, OK  74702.


Diplomas Can Be Replaced: All OSU graduates who lost an OSU diploma during the destruction caused by this spring’s tornadoes can have it replaced free of charge. If you graduated from CASNR and need assistance, please contact Stephen Damron, Assistant Dean, Academic Programs, CASNR, at 405-744-5305.

Under Construction: The front (east) entrance to Ag Hall on the OSU/Stillwater campus is currently being remodeled. Construction should be completed by the beginning of the fall semester. Please use an alternative entrance to the building.

Teaching Associate Opening: A Teaching Associate position is available for the 2013-2014 academic year in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering. The position would teach Mechanized Agriculture (MCAG). Details are available here. Interested individuals should submit an application packet no later than the morning of July 10 for consideration.
