ANNOUNCEMENTS

Applications Available Soon for Camp TURF: Camp TURF (Tomorrow’s Undergraduates Realizing the Future) 2013 will take place June 9 through June 21. Camp TURF is a residential summer academy for upcoming 9th and 10th grade students in Oklahoma, and is sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The two-week camp allows students to explore career areas in horticulture and landscape architecture while participating in hands-on activities led by professors and professionals in the field. There is no cost to students to attend, and the camp is limited to 25 slots. Applications will be available in March on the state regents’ website, as well as on www.hortla.okstate.edu. Congratulations to: Mary Ann McCarley, Senior Secretary, Duncan Area Office, and her husband, David, on the birth of their granddaughter. Kalvary Jo was born Dec. 17, weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20 ¾ inches long. She is welcomed home by big sister Kimber. 

Congratulations to: Travis Tacker, Extension Educator, Agriculture/4-H Youth Development, Kiowa County, and his wife, Leslea, on the birth of their daughter. Maggie Jo was born Dec. 21, weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 18 ¼ inches long. She is welcomed home by her siblings Polly, Luke, and Logan.

Condolences to: Valorie Pitman, Extension Secretary, McIntosh County, on the death of her mother. Betty Rich passed away Dec. 20. Funeral services took place Dec. 27 in Oklahoma City. Cards may be sent to Valorie at 411 East Jefferson, Eufaula, OK  74432.

Richert Honored: Charlotte Richert, CED, Tulsa County, was recognized by the Tulsa Business Journal as one of the Top Twenty Women of Tulsa with the Woman of Distinction Award.  Congratulations Charlotte!
