Announcements

Waste Education Trunks Now Available: Solid waste management resource trunks are available for loan to K-12 educators for use in the classroom or outdoors.  Ideal for youth groups, 4-H, and communities interested in waste topics.  Trunks feature a "Close the Loop" component with tabletop display and samples of items made from recycled materials, plus activities and resources on topics such as illegal dumping and littering; reduce, reuse, recycle; backyard composting; and household hazardous waste. Trunks are located in each of the four OCES District Offices (the SW District trunk is in Cordell). Contact those offices for a trunk application.  For trunk pickup in Oklahoma City, Stillwater, or Tulsa, email ilda.hershey@okstate.edu. Solid Waste Management Resource Trunks are funded by a grant provided to Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service by U. S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, and are co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Recycling Association.
