Tree Care Conference: Tree Care Conference is slated Nov. 16 at The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University located west of Stillwater. The conference is geared toward arborists, nursery professionals, urban foresters, landscape managers, landscape architects, Master Gardeners, related professionals and advanced hobbyists. Some of the best industry professionals will be on hand to share their expertise in the various lectures during the event, and lectures will be taught by OSU faculty and industry professionals. Registration is $80, includes lunch, and must be postmarked by Nov. 7. Extension Educators, Master Gardeners, OBGA members and students (with student ID) may pre-register at the discounted rate of $55. No late or day of registration will be accepted. OALP Completes 10th Seminar: The Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Program participated in its 10th seminar in southeastern Oklahoma Oct. 5-7. Class XV participants toured a meat processing facility, fish farm, Christmas tree farm, guest ranch, poultry processing facility, broiler farm, forest industry, bermudagrass hay operation, sod farm, and wildlife refuge.  Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese joined the group for the poultry visits. The community service project included mowing, weed-eating, picking up trash, and emptying trash containers at the Buffalo Valley Public Schools. The class is looking forward to the next seminar in northeastern Oklahoma slated Nov. 9-11.

New Address: The Caddo County OSU Extension office has moved. The new address is 1202 E. Central Blvd., Anadarko, OK  73005. Telephone and fax numbers will remain the same. An open house is slated Nov. 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Congratulations to: Leslie German, Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development, Tulsa County, on her marriage to Will Lewis. The couple were married Oct. 15.


Congratulations to: Sherman Grubb III, Extension Educator, Agriculture/4-H Youth Development, and CED, Creek County, was recognized as Show Honoree at the Night of Champions at the Tulsa State Fair. Sherman has been a Livestock Superintendent for 26 years. Congratulations Sherman!
