CURRENT EVENTS

Winter Canola Conferences: The 7th Annual Oklahoma-Kansas Winter Canola Conference will take place July 19 at the Garfield County Fairground in Enid, and July 20 at the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Cameron University Campus in Lawton.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

New OAEAA Officers Elected: Members of the Oklahoma Association of Extension Agriculture Agents met recently for the group's annual state meeting. While convened the group elected new officers. The 2011-2012 officers are: President, Doug Maxey; President-Elect, Mike Weber; Vice President, Wes Lee; Past President, J.J. Jones; Secretary/Treasurer, Brian Freking; Secretary/Treasure-Elect, Jeff  Bedwell; Northeast Senior District Director, Brian Jervis; Northeast Junior District Director, Mike Rose; Northwest Senior District Director, Darrell McBee; Northwest Junior District Director, Dana Bay; Southeast Senior District Director, Keegan Varner; Southeast Junior District Director, Carl Oblander; Southwest Senior District Director, Marty New; Southwest Junior District Director, Aaron Henson; State Senior Director, Jason Warren; and State Junior Director, David Lalman.

Congratulations to: Phil Mulder, Professor and Head, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, and his wife, Lori, on the birth of their granddaughter. Adelaide Marie Mulder was born June 15, weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 18 inches long. Proud parents are Adam Mulder and Tara Hembrough.

Condolences to: Trisha Gedon, Communications Specialist, Agricultural Communications Services, and her husband, Carl, on the death of her mother. Florence Pinckard passed away July 12. Funeral services will take place Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 p.m. at The First Christian Church in Laverne. Cards may be sent to Trisha at 623 N. Manning St., Stillwater, OK  74075.
