OALP Meets in Oklahoma City: The Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Program (OALP) held its sixth seminar in Oklahoma City April 20-22. On the first day, Class XV participants learned about the legislative process, visited with several legislators, learned about Oklahoma Farm Bureau, and visited with Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese. As part of their community service project, the class sorted and packaged food at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The second day they toured an alpaca farm, organic farm, Blue and Gold Sausage Company, ODAFF, and Producers Cooperative Oil Mill.  The final day was focused on water issues including the State Water Plan, water laws, tribal issues, and water needs of Tarrant County in Texas. The class was excited to learn that their international trip will take them to Scotland and Ireland. OALP Class XV is looking forward to the next seminar in north central Oklahoma and Kansas May 11-13.
