CURRENT EVENTS
Early Registration Deadline is TODAY: Today is the early registration deadline for the annual Rural Economic Outlook Conference slated Oct. 20 at the OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Keynote speakers will be addressing particularly timely topics, including trade, Farm Bill, and the macroeconomic environment. Presenters include Luis Ribera, Texas A&M University; Pat Westhoff, University of Missouri; and Cortney Cowley, Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank, Omaha Branch. In addition, OSU faculty will be on hand contributing rapid-fire outlook information and research updates. A detailed agenda is available here. Registration for the conference can be done through the OSU Marketplace. The $50 registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, and breaks.
Herbicide Symptomology Clinic to Take Place in Stillwater: A Herbicide Symptomology Clinic will take place Nov. 3 at the Agronomy Research Station in Stillwater. Join fellow producers, Extension educators/personnel, and researchers to learn more about the key visual symptoms of common herbicides used in winter wheat and canola production systems. Coffee and donuts will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the clinic will begin at 9 a.m. Topics on the agenda include common preemergence and postemergence herbicide symptomology, herbicide technology update, and tank contamination. The clinic is free but participants are asked to RSVP to Misha Manuchehri at 405-744-9588, or misha.manuchehri@okstate.edu.
