OSU Plant Sale is TOMORROW: The 42nd OSU Annual Plant Sale is slated tomorrow, April 8, at the teaching greenhouses just south of the Colvin Center. The sale will take place from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or until sold out. For a plant list, please go here.

2017 OSU Wheat Field Tour Schedule Available: The 2017 OSU Wheat Field Tour schedule has been announced. A complete list of dates, locations and times is available here. Please note all times are subject to change. Contact the County Extension Office to confirm date, time, and location.                                                       


DHM Design Institute 2017: Oklahoma youth ages 13 and older, along with adult volunteers and Extension educators, are invited to take part in the second DHM Design Institute slated June 26-28 at OSU. Teams of adults and youth together are encouraged to join the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising for this. During this intensive workshop, participants will learn topics, practice skills, and experience technologies relevant to fashion design, interior design, and fashion merchandising. Participants will gain understanding of basic textiles, drawing for fashion and interiors, and design thinking. By exploring current events and new technologies, such as 3-D body scanning, Mock Shop, virtual reality, 3-D printing, laser cutting, CAD, and motion capture, participants will understand career paths in fashion design and production, interior design, and fashion merchandising while experiencing the atmosphere of learning at the university and interacting with industry professionals. Registration is $125 and due by April 30. More information is available here.

Condolences to: Heath Sanders, Southwest District Area Agronomy Specialist, on the death of his grandfather. Earl “Son” Sanders passed away March 19. Funeral service took place March 24 at Sterling High School in Sterling, Oklahoma. Cards may be sent to Heath at P.O. Box 409, Elgin, OK  73538.

Condolences to: George Driever, Extension Educator, Horticulture/4-H Youth Development, Pottawatomie County, and his wife, Connie, on the death of his father-in-law. Harold Bird passed away March 20. Funeral services took place March 25 at the Octavia Cemetery in Octavia, Oklahoma. Cards may be send to George and Connie at 1304 W. Walnut, Tecumseh, OK  74873.

Condolence to: The family of J.Q. Lynd, OSU Professor Emeritus. He passed away March 20. A celebration of life will take place April 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Bennett Chapel on the OSU campus. Although he did not have an Extension appointment, he worked closely with a number of Extension faculty and staff throughout his career.

Condolences to: Dee Cooper, Northwest District Extension Director, and his wife, Renee, on the death of his mother-in-law. Alice Newlin passed away March 30. Funeral service took place April 3 at the Burbank Baptist Church in Burbank, Oklahoma. Cards may be sent to Dee and Renee at 30601 John Wayne, Glencoe, OK  74032.
