Workshops Needed for State 4-H Roundup: Please consider teaching an educational workshop at the 96th State 4-H Roundup, which will take place on the OSU campus July 26-28. State 4-H Council members and the Roundup planning committee are looking to you to share your skills, leadership, and expertise to further the success of 4-H’ers across Oklahoma. Consider joining other forward thinkers to explore, create, and celebrate Oklahoma 4-H.
What is your area of expertise? Parliamentary procedure, landscape design, performing arts, animal nutrition, engineering, natural resources, leadership, or quilting? How about duct tape creations? All submissions are considered!

Nearly 900 teens and adult volunteers come together on the campus of Oklahoma State University for this event. Each person chooses from a wide selection of topics taught by university faculty, Extension professionals, volunteers, and 4-H teens. Check out the attached workshop proposal. The deadline to submit your proposal is April 1. Workshop Was Big Success: The Department of Animal Science and The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences recently hosted the Horse Owner’s Workshop at the Cline Equine Center. Participants received information on care of the geriatric horse, end of life decisions, weed identification, respiratory disease, and more. Horse owners were made aware of how prepared (or not) they were for spring storm season, and what judges are really looking for in conformation. In addition, Chris Hiney and Dianne McFarlane entertained the group at lunch with a live agility dog demonstration. If you missed out this year, be sure to put it on your calendar for March 3, 2018.
