Also on the agenda will be the Mesonet Training Center dedication. Live music will include Strings of Praise, John Home, Paul Bostick and Red Dirt Rangers.

Horse Science Academy: A Horse Science Academy geared toward high school students will incorporate STEM disciplines with their interest in horses. This event will take place Nov. 21 at the Totusek Arena in Stillwater and focus on using math and science to make economical, ethical and sustainable decisions regarding equine health care and management. Material will be delivered via a short classroom lecture, followed by a laboratory session incorporating hands-on application of the material. Topics will include anthelmintic resistance/strategic deworming, physical exams and weight assessment, forage evaluation and equine rotation evaluation. At the end of the day students will have completed a basic budget for their horse. Registration is $40 and includes lunch. In addition, students will take home two phone apps, a digital thermometer, stethoscope and a workbook. For more information, please contact Kris Hiney, Extension Equine Specialist, at 405-744-9291.
