CURRENT EVENTS
Fall Concerts in the Garden Series Begins Tonight: Grab your chairs and pack a picnic supper and head to The Botanic Garden at OSU tonight for the first concert in the fall concert series. Stillwater-favorite Val Gladden Band takes the stage at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will feature a blend of country, rock and soul music. Dom and the Riff will provide the music Sept. 18. This band combines multiple genres to create a sound of their own. Slated Sept. 25 will showcase the talents of guitarist/vocalist Tyler Siems. These concerts have been very popular and provide area residents with a great evening of entertainment.
Oklahoma 4-H’ers Participating in Septemberfest: Oklahoma 4-H’ers will have an opportunity to share their project work and tell their 4-H story at the informational booth that will be set up at Septemberfest. The event takes place tomorrow, Sept. 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., Oklahoma City. Septemberfest is free and open to the public. Visitors also may visit the Oklahoma History Center free of charge that day. There will be a number of vendors on hand for the event, including Dairy MAX, Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanic Garden and others. This event is a great opportunity to learn more about Oklahoma commodities, as well as a time for 4-H’ers to share information about this great youth organization. There will be several hands-on activities available at the 4-H booth. For more information, contact Kristin Knight in the State 4-H Office at 405-744-7960.

The training begins at 9:00 a.m. Topics up for discussion include introduction to groundwater hydrology, irrigation, OWRB groundwater information, selection of groundwater pumps and equipment and interpreting groundwater tests. The training also will address common irrigation and water quality questions. Participants may enroll at https://apps.dasnr.okstate.edu/inservice/2015/inservice/show/70134.
Horse Science Academy: A Horse Science Academy geared toward high school students designed to show the incorporation of science and mathematics to horse management will take place Nov. 21 at the Totusek Arena in Stillwater.
