Oklahoma Irrigation Conference Takes Place Aug. 18: There is still time to register for the Oklahoma Irrigation Conference slated Aug. 18. The conference will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Building 400 at the Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, 1415 7th St., Ft. Cobb. Registration is $15 and includes conference materials, lunch and refreshments. Registration forms are available online at http://oces.okstate.edu/caddo/oklahoma-irrigation-conference and through all OSU Cooperative Extension county offices. For additional information, please contact the Caddo County OSU Extension Office at 405-247-3376.
America’s Healthiest Campus ® (AHC) Innovator Trainings: Mark your calendars now and plan to attend an AHC Innovator Training slated Oct. 21, 2015, or Jan. 11, 2016. Both trainings will take place in Stillwater. Go to http://americashealthiestcampus.okstate.edu/ahc-innovators to register for the Oct. 21 training. The Jan. 11 training will be posted at the same site in late October. Remember, the overall goal of OSU OCES is to have a trained Innovator in every county office. Condolences to: Balinda Miller, Administrative Support Specialist, Lincoln County, and her son, Kyler, on the death of her husband, Darren Miller. He passed away July 26. Funeral services took place July 29 at the First Baptist Church in Chandler. Memorials may be made to the Kyle Miller Scholarship Fund in care of the First Bank of Chandler.

Extension Specialists Receive Awards: Four Extension specialists were honored recently at separate professional meetings. Gerald Doeksen was presented with the Extension Career Award at the Western Agricultural Economics Association’s recent meeting. At the same meeting, Jodie Campiche and Eric DeVuyst, along with colleagues from KSU, received the Outstanding Extension Program Award for the “OSU-KSU 2014 Farm Bill Decision Tool and Educational Program.” Shannon Ferrell was awarded the Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program Award – Individuals Less than 10 Years’ Experience, at the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association meeting.
