OK-FIRE Fall Workshops Slated:
There are two dates left to participate in the OK-FIRE workshops that are led by J.D. Carlson, OSU fire meteorologist and OK-FIRE program manager. Remaining dates and locations include Altus, Dec. 10; and Stillwater, Dec. 16. OK-FIRE is an operational weather-based decision support system (http://okfire.mesonet.org) for wildland fire managers throughout Oklahoma.  Users include multiple federal and state agencies as well as local fire departments, emergency managers, and private landowners. Registration is required and can be done by contacting Elaina Wright (elaina.wright@okstate.edu; 405-744-5425; 405-744-5431) at OSU and providing her with your name, affiliation, email address, and phone number. Applications will be accepted through the middle of the week prior to each workshop or until space is filled up, whichever occurs sooner. There is no cost for the workshops, aside from travel costs to and from the location. Additional information can be found  here.

Malley Helps with Waste Audit: Lynn Malley, Assistant Extension Specialist with the Solid Waste Management Program, helped recently with the Choctaw Nation’s Going Green Team during the group’s annual festival, which drew a crowd of about 75,000 people. Contact her at lynn.malley@okstate.edu. In addition, America Recycles Day is TOMORROW, Nov. 15. You can register any project or take the pledge here.
