Final Concert Oct. 25: The Autumn Nights Concert Series will wrap up Oct. 25 with the indie rock band The Wurly Birds from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and a picnic supper and enjoy an evening of music with their family. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place in the Educational Building.


 We Want to Hear From You: Have you benefitted from services available through the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service? If so, Agricultural Communications Services wants to hear your story. Dave Deken will be in Ag Hall this Sat., Oct. 19 after the OSU homecoming football game. Please take time to stop by and tell your story. These stories will be used as promotional pieces as OCES gears up for its Centennial Celebration in 2014. For more information, please contact Dave at 405-744-5978.

Condolences to: Chris Harris, Extension Educator, Agriculture/4-H Youth Development, Haskell County, on the death of his mother. Carolyn Sue Moss Harris passed away Oct. 11. Funeral services took place Oct. 15 at Victory Worship Center in Spiro. Cards may be mailed to Christ as 18655 Twilight Road, Keota, OK  74941. 



Payne Honored: Josh Payne, Area Animal Waste Management Specialist, Northeast District, was honored recently with the 2013 Golden Paddle Award for Technical, Research and Education. The award was presented during the Illinois River Watershed Partnership (IRWP) Restoration of Our Rivers conference where he also was a featured presenter on the topic of Sustainable Agriculture. Josh also serves as Coordinator of the Oklahoma Poultry Waste Management Education Program and Adjunct Associate Professor, Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering.
