First Place Finish: Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering’s Cowboy Motorsports 1/4-scale tractor teams took top honors at the recent international competition sponsored by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers at Moline, Ill. The senior team took first place overall in the design competition, competing against 29 teams from the United States and Canada. The team placed first in the categories Pull Performance and Serviceability, third place with their written report, third place for Web site design, and fourth in Presentation.  The team also tied for first place in Sportsmanship, an award voted on by all of the teams in the competition.  They won the Campbell Scientific Award as well, which recognizes the best electronics application in the design of the tractor. Not to be outdone, the OSU X-team, consisting of freshmen and sophomores who modify and enter the previous year’s tractor, defended their top title by placing first overall and first in Pull Performance.
