Tucker Set to Retire: After a 10-year career with OCES, Nancy Tucker, Pushmataha County Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Sciences/4-H Youth Development, is retiring. Her last day will be March 5. The county office is hosting a come-and-go retirement reception March 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to come by and wish Nancy well. For more information, please contact Shelly Stevenson at 580-298-5563.


Condolences to: John Haase, Rogers County Extension Educator, Horticulture/4-H Youth Development, on the death of his father. Donald Haase passed away Feb. 6. A memorial service took place in Talihina, Okla., at the Veteran’s Center Auditorium, and graveside services took place in Guthrie. Cards may be sent to John and his family at 14105 E. Clearview Road, Claremore, OK  74017.

Condolences to: Kevin Hackett, Northwest District 4-H Youth Development Program Specialist, on the death of his wife. Susan Faye Hackett passed away Feb. 10. Funeral services will take place today, Feb. 12, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 401 W. Main, Enid. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Blackwell Cemetery, south of Blackwell. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Koman Foundation, First Baptist Church, or the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation. Cards may be sent to Kevin at 3924 W. Rupe Ave., Enid, OK, 73703.


Publication Wins Award: The Southern Region of the American Society for Horticultural Science has awarded its Blue Ribbon Award to the OSU Extension publication “A Pocket Guide to Oklahoma Pecan Diseases, Insects, and Other Disorders.” Authors on the award-winning publication are Eric Stafne, Michael Smith, Phillip Mulder, Jr., Damon Smith, and Charles Rohla.
