TITLE: THE NATIONAL COLLEGIATE INVENTORS & INNOVATORS ALLIANCE (NCIIA) GRANT PROGRAM SPONSOR: The National Collegiate Inventors & Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) PURPOSE: Support for colleges and universities teaching invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. DEADLINE: December 15, 1999; May 15, 2000 SUMMARY: The NCIIA grant program funds curriculum development and the work of teams of student inventors known as "E-Teams." The grants encourage interdisciplinary groups of students to work collaboratively to identify real-world problems, develop practical solutions, and commercialize their innovations. The NCIIA will award approximately 50 grants of $1 - 50,000 each to faculty and students of member institutions. The NCIIA will provide financial support for the creation and establishment of programs and courses that promote invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship and support the work of student/faculty E-Teams. NCIIA grants fund work from the initial concept, through exploratory E-Team course work; to patenting, licensing, and steps leading to commercialization of new technologies. Title: Postdoctoral Fellowships

Abstract: If two members of a given household receive a BARD fellowship simultaneously, the amount of the award for either or both of the fellowships will be adjusted. Upon the written request of the host scientist, the host institution will receive $3,000 to offset operating expenses of the proposed research. Recipients with children receive an allowance of $2,000.
The Binational Agricultural and Research Development (BARD) fund supports cooperative agricultural research projects that are of mutual interest to the United States and Israel. Appropriate projects cover any or all phases of research and development, including integrated research and development problems and basic or applied research. The primary objective of BARD's Postdoctoral Fellowship program is to enable young scientists to acquire new skills and techniques while becoming professionally established in the agricultural research community. The program promotes cooperative agricultural research between postdoctoral fellows from one country (United States or Israel) and senior scientists from the other country. BARD prefers innovative research topics that are relevant to agricultural issues.
